AKCENT Festival

The Akcent Festival was born from the urgent need to create a platform for art that breaks the barriers between artistic creation, social problems and politics. Its organizers understand art as a unique means of communication that is not limited to traditional consumers of art.

Founded in 2010 on the basis of a social initiative by Prague’s Archa Theatre, the festival gives space to documentary theatre, community-based arts, social interventions and public art. It strives to present socially beneficial or critical artistic activities while promoting a new view of the function of art in society.
